Becoming Mombie — Week 28
Monday, October 16, 2017
Becoming Mombie is my weekly documentation of the third trimester of my pregnancy
with my DS (dear son) + a few life updates.
Swallowing a coconut and having the giant nut settle in your tummy.
That's how I look this week!
We're closing in on 6 months right now. Can't believe I have 3 months left!
How's baby?
Baby is becoming super malikot right now.
He's playfully mischievous that I can feel him at several points of my tummy, simultaneously. Compared to before, his movements are less violent and becoming more regular.
I can usually feel him:
- In the wee hours of the morning. When I go back to the bed from the bathroom break. It's like having a ball jumping around your belly.
- When I'm talking to someone. 80% of the time, it's just him and me and all he hears is my voice, his dad's, and international singers too (lol. Thanks, Spotify.) So, when I talk to a friend on some days, he'll move around my belly as if excited to hear somebody else yapping. Tired of my voice yet, baby?
- When it's noisy. His dad and I would always notice this pattern. He's moving nonstop when there's noise around, i.e. when we're out for a movie or when I'm with a talkative friend (happened once, lol). Prolly because we're always at home and it's pretty quiet all the time.
- At night before we go to sleep. The Ovia app (oh, wait 'til I tell you about this amazing pregnancy app!) tells me that baby is active when I'm inactive. And inactive when I'm active. My movement lulls him to sleep and my inactivity creates an inviting moment for him to play around.
Baby's Milestones at Week 28
I love having the Ovia pregnancy companion app because it has answered all my questions with regards to my pregnancy, even before they become questions.
It's just amazing how it keeps you in the know of your current state.
Like during the early stages of my pregnancy when there was always a bit of dried blood lining my nose. It was normal.
Your OB will not be with you all the time and you can't ask her petty questions like all of the time.
So, according to the app, here are the baby milestones this week. I love reading these little updates too!
- His luscious hair keeps growing
- He has developed eyelashes already!
- Muscles are continuing to develop
- He weighs about 2.5 pounds this week
- He can open his eyes, but the vision isn't excellent
- Less violent and more regular movements
How's mommy?
Oh, I'm pretty fabulous.
The husband has just noticed red streaks on my lower left belly. Cue horror—stretchmarks! I've been lathering my belly religiously with BioOil, though.
Then, my new undies seem to be shrinking? They now leave marks on my hips. I have to stock up on new seamless undies again. I love those from Bench as they're a bit loose.
I actually bought one again earlier. Grey one. It matches my 'It Girl' nail polish that I have made matte just earlier this evening. Thanks to the Matte-ing nail polish that I have grabbed along my way to the counter.
The original intention was to buy another bra because all my other bra's are killing me. Never in my life have I thought to wear a 38B bra, but right now, it's the only size I'm comfortable in.
I ended up buying 3 items from Bench.
Oh, and before that, my pretty future sis-in-law and I entered a store and we checked out with one item each. I have found the perfect fitting dress in dark green that hugs my pregnant body. Might seem odd, but I feel sexy now that I'm pregnant. Lol.
All these shopping in 30 minutes while the men (hubby and his bros) were gone.
Oh, and I am almost always hungry these days. This was not the case during my early months. Thankfully.

❝ TL;DR: I'm a bit shopaholic these days. I need a wardrobe revamp! The tight clothes and undies are just uncomfy. ❞
How's daddy?
I think he had a blast this week—it's his birthday week.
A day before his birthday, I made windows cathedral with jelly ace. Tastes delish! But looks awful. Lol. Didn't freeze completely. Have to try again.
On the day of his birthday, we just ate dinner at a cafe near our house. Surprised him with a cake that says. "Happy Birthday Daddy! ♥❤♥". Yep, the three hearts are included. I just wrote one on the note, but ate gurl drew 3 with central heart bigger than the other two. She's got style, yo!
Then, today, we ate at Yakimix with his brothers and his youngest brother's girlfriend. Of course, we ate a lot.
Baby was active the whole time. Probably because it's noisy or he's getting a smorgasbord of different flavors. Or it was just noisy in there with almost over 20 repetitions of 'Happy Birthday' sang by the hyperactive Yakimix talents.
Them men had half-body massages for 30-minutes, while E and I headed out to get out nails done. But we passed because the nail spas were too booked.
We went shopping instead. Story above. Hihi.
❝ TLDR: He's the responsible (birthday) dad and thoughtful brother (he bought 'em beer) who takes care of family.❞
That's all for Becoming Mombie this week!
Next week is gonna be a busy week. We got some needles to overcome and a wedding to go to. I'm the matron of honor! Lol.
