I'm At a Stage Where I Am Seriously Considering Nesting, But...
Wednesday, April 18, 2018Maybe it's the warm, cozy "Don't you dare ask me to move because I'm in a comfortable spot" feelings that I get just by looking at curated living rooms... (Yep, major Pinterest vibe. Used to do blog posts about architecture and home design. I loved every minute of it.)
Or maybe it's because I don't want to be away from the house for 7 straight days because I don't want to come home to another succulent or cactus... It thorns my heart. (Yep, a pun)
Or maybe it's this little mister right here. The almost 4-month old baby who has surprisingly been sleeping since 9 this morning with his onesie unbuttoned and lifted just above his navel, leaving his diaper exposed. The diaper's pee-full, fluffy and protruding. (I scheduled a bath, but he's rebelling against it by sleeping. And I could use the time for this much-needed reflection. Thank you, baby. You know what mommy needs.)
Okay, was distracted by my baby. You know every momma. She'll never get tired of talking about her baby.
Back to my train of maybe's.
My train of maybe's are my hypothesized reasons why me and apparently, my husband, are feeling strong feelings about nesting.
Me and apparently, my husband, are feeling strong feelings about nesting 🏡
Nesting, meaning settling in a decent house. Lol.
It's a good thing, right?
Maybe. I dunno. My husband and I did not consider buying a home since like forever because we don't know where we want to settle down. Abroad? Here in the Philippines?
We also abhor the complexities that come with owning a home. We prefer to pay rent even when it's "like paying for a house monthly" (but I tell you it's NOT) because that means freedom from home loans and the easy option of being portable.

But the addition to our family has got us thinking of buying a house—and a bunch of other adult stuff that we definitely should get serious about! Haha.
This makes me confused about my next adventures. 😅 Thus, this blog post.
Writing and blogging give me clarity. And as my past practice proved, blogging about my goals got me striking out those tasks like I'm one mad life coach. Haha.
Okay, so I used to say 2018 is my Year of Stillness.
I will let things be.
I will focus on being the best mother for Jeerux.
I will still continue client work with my 2 clientsso I can buy baby clothes and toys and children books so we can still live comfortably.
Things are cool until I realized...
Omg. My fellow freelancers are having their own businesses, I want to do that too.
Omg. The other freelancers are doing live webinars, I want to do that too.
Omg. It's time for me to get that life insurance with critical illness rider. I already have a baby.
Omg. I have an aging mother and aging aunts that I need to take care of.
Omg. The apartment we're living in is becoming too small. Baby will need to practice walking soon.
Omg. I want to learn Montessori so I can apply it to my baby.
Getting back to the post now.
The whole point of this blog post is for me to plan my year, pluck out the mediocre stuff and see how I can be the unicorn freelancing mombie that I am.
April is always my January and I start re-aligning my life when this month comes.
Fair warning: This is where you scram away because this post is getting a bit self-centered and boring. Will be throwing in my goals. I can't life if I don't have a plan right now.
Diving in in 3, 2, 1...
Oh, you stayed?
Invade my personal life and read my goals then.
Aaaaahhhhh, getting these thoughts out of my head felt good. This makes me confused about my next adventures. 😅 Thus, this blog post.

Yep, when you become a mom, you sort of see the big decade-into-the-future picture and hyperanalyze all the smallest actionable items that you should do to paint that picture perfectly. Like right now.
😶
There goes my stillness. Out of the door. Never will be seen in a while again.
But I need to pull it back. That's the reason why I quit my day job in the first place. To have a simple, meaningful life with my family.
—The dragon has just awoken.
**2-8-hour break** lol, life happened.
